Version Alpha R5 Release Notes
Hi all, today this plugin was updated to version Alpha R5!
This version adds videos as a possible battleback. You can now set a video file to play in the battle background, which should loop as the plugin will repeat it automatically. This should really allow you to customize your battle backgrounds. See below gif for a preview of how it can look:
Along with this, an option was given to hide the battleback sprites. I was going to hide sprites automatically with a video, but thought some people might have use for a sprite in front of the video.
This update also simplifies the plugin commands the plugin comes with. Clear Battle Back has been removed, instead you can now call Set Battle Back with an empty id to clear the animated battle back. Show Animation and Hide Animation have been combined, with a new Show argument that determines if it will show or hide the animation.

Hi all, I hope you like the update 😁! I will be adding video to a few of my other plugins in the near future as well and plan to experiment more with where showing video might be appropriate.
You can view the updated plugin commands and parameters on the Casper Gaming Wiki here: https://caspergaming.miraheze.org/wiki/CGMZ_Animated_Battle_Backs
Do you have any suggestions for more things you'd like to see added to this plugin? Let me know in the comments!
I've been following your work and using your plugins for a very long time. At this point I'm not a Patreon subscriber, but your plugins are worth buying both in the past and in the future. :)
I really like your approach to RPG Maker MZ and the plugin system. Not just the plugin itself, but the way you interact with the community, provide tutorials through the wiki, etc. You are developer/community friendly in every way. Thank you for all of this. You and your(our) community are amazing!
