Hi all, introducing: [CGMZ] Event Clone!

The Problem

Have you ever had a complicated event that needed to be copied around multiple times, even perhaps to multiple maps? Then, maybe your event had a bug in it or needed to be changed as part of an update. You would need to copy the event all over again and hope you don't miss an area.

Event Cloning

With event cloning, you can simply tell your events to load a source event from a different map. With this plugin, you use a simple note tag <cgmzclone:eventId> with the event id you want to clone in the event note section. Then that event will behave as if it is the event on the source map.

If you need to make changes to your event, you only need to update the source event and all cloned events will automatically be updated as well.

Example

Each cloned event can be erased and interacted with separately, but they all do the same thing. In the gif example below, all of the cloned events show some text and then a death animation. However, what if we wanted to change to a Fog animation or change the text? Without cloned events, we would need to update all of the events. With cloned events, we only need to update the source event.

Cloned events still work with all event-specific commands. You can erase event and only erase one of the clones. You can also control self switches or use other commands that only affect one event without affecting clones too.

Mid-Game Cloning

You can also change events mid-game into cloned versions via a plugin command. You could use this for furniture building, such as giving the player the option to make a piece of furniture and then clone an event into the furniture they select. To tear the furniture down, you can un-clone the event and allow your player to re-select which piece of furniture they want to make. Many systems are possible.

Roadmap

This has been a plugin [CGMZ] has been lacking so I wanted to get this functionality out there. The plugin is planned to also allow spawning of events in a future update, but that is not yet a feature.
