[CGMZ] Power Meter for RPG Maker MZ

Hi all, introducing [CGMZ] Power Meter!

This plugin adds a power meter minigame to your eventing arsenal. Make the player press stop on a power meter before your events continue, using the result in the event commands.

Power Meter Mechanic

The power meter mechanic is a gauge that fills up (and optionally back down) until the player presses to stop it. When the power meter is stopped, the percentage it was filled at the time it was stopped is provided to a game variable that you can then use in your events.

For example, you could make it so they have to stop a power meter when attempting to cut down a tree with the success range being 70-100% filled with a bonus if they get it exactly 100% full. See below gif for how it could look:

Eventer's Tool

This plugin is an eventer's tool since you can do just about anything with it in your events. You start a power meter event via plugin command, during which event command processing will pause. After the power meter event is over, event command processing resumes. The only limit for what you could use this for is your skill at making events.

Customization

Currently, you can change things such as fill speed, gauge color, text displayed, and required input to stop the power meter. These are set up for each power meter event, so you can have power meters that show different things and have slightly different mechanics throughout your game.

Reusability

Power Meters are set up in the plugin parameters and given an id. You can easily re-use power meter events throughout your game by typing the same id into the plugin command to start a power meter event. If you need to change a power meter event later, you simply change that event's settings once in the plugin parameters and it will automatically be changed everywhere you used it in your game.

Roadmap

This plugin handles the foundations of the power meter mechanic currently, but there are some things I want to add to make it even better. These are as follows:

• Touch UI support
• Allow power meter events in battle
• Statistics tracking for power meter events passed / attempted
• Further customization options for power meters
