[CGMZ][Alpha] Hidden Objects for RPG Maker MZ
A downloadable plugin
Hi all,
This plugin adds a "hidden object" minigame, otherwise known as point and click game to RPG Maker. You create a background and foreground image, and then a bunch of objects hidden throughout the scene which will appear in front of the background but behind the foreground allowing you to partially obscure the objects. On the bottom, a window tracks which objects the player has found. To register an item as found, the player simply needs to click on the object.
This plugin also supports setting a Timer to limit how long the player has to look for objects in the scene. You can also use plugin commands to determine if a specific hidden object scene has been completed (all objects found). You can queue a common event to run after the scene ends as well.
Objects in the scene can have different images displayed in the scene vs the object window, and they can also have unfound names that display before the object is found by the player. Names support text codes. See below image for how this may look:
In the above image, the large Salamander object has a different image in the object window along with name ??? before it is found.
This plugin being in Alpha is still incomplete. Things I plan to add to it include the ability to "move" between different scenes such as by clicking on the right/left side of the screen, allowing you to create more intricate Hidden Object puzzles.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:
Please be aware that you can access this as well as all of my other Alpha plugins for $5 on my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/CasperGamingRPGM
This is posted to Itch.io since some people only use Itch and are not aware my Patreon and all of my beta/alpha plugins exist, or want to have everything in one convenient location (itch.io), or do not want to do a monthly subscription.
Casper Gaming's Beta/Alpha plugins are treated as an "early access" and will eventually be free for everyone once they are fully released, though this process can take months/years. By purchasing in beta/alpha, you are able to provide early feedback/suggestions which are more likely to make it into the final fully released plugin.

Of all your works, this alone is the one where i'm like "yeah please let us download a free demo", knowing how this feels to play would be huge in considering buying it :) that said, your prices are always insane so $5 to test it is fine anyways, just a suggestion <3 Keep up the insane work, fr. Thank you and God bless
Hi, thank you for the kind words 😊 making free demos for paid plugins is tricky because it would also need to include the plugin. I know some people use a free/paid model with incredibly limited features in their free version, but it is a lot of extra work to maintain 2 versions of each plugin especially as [CGMZ] is over 90 plugins big now so it is not something I think I could do at the moment. Thank you for the suggestion though, I will keep it in mind.
Will you make an MV version? I am assuming that this is only for MZ.
Hi, this is for MZ only. I have no plans to port my MZ plugins over to MV at this time.
Ah I see. Well thanks for your quick reply.
can you be hired to make a plug-in like that? Maybe you don’t have time.
Hi, no I do not take commissions.
