[CGMZ] Cheat Codes for RPG Maker MZ

Hi all, introducing [CGMZ] Cheat Codes!

Create and allow your player to unlock cheat codes through gameplay. After unlocking some cheats, the player can then open the dedicated cheat code scene to toggle them on or off as they desire. See below for how it can look:

Unlock Codes

Your cheat codes can start the game unlocked, or you can require your player to unlock them through gameplay. This plugin comes with a simple plugin command to unlock your cheat codes which you can use at any time.

Before a code is unlocked, you can opt to either show the code name and description and make it greyed out, totally hide it from view, or make it a mystery cheat code that shows a special mystery icon, name, and description.

Simple Mechanics

Cheat codes work by turning on or off simple game switches, the same ones you are already used to using through event commands. This means checking whether the player has turned a cheat code on is trivial as you just need to check if its switch is on. Even better, you can control these switches as the developer to force a player to turn a cheat code on or off.

Since cheat codes go by game switches, you can event just about any functionality you want. The only limits are your skill at creating events. In future updates, I will also be adding some common cheat code functionality built into the plugin to make it even easier to use without you needing to do anything.

Integrations

This plugin has additional features when used alongside the following [CGMZ] plugins:

[CGMZ] Scene Backgrounds - Show a custom background image in your cheat code scene, including video or scrolling animated parallax images. You can even carry the map weather over!

[CGMZ] Window Backgrounds - Show a custom background image in your cheat code window, including scrolling animated parallax images and some more animated options.

[CGMZ] Window Settings - Control the window background type, windowskin, padding, tone, and more. This plugin allows total control over most window customizations.

[CGMZ] Controls Window - Show the player the controls of the cheat code scene. Controls automatically swap between keyboard and gamepad controls depending on the last input type the player used, and buttons can be animated to show them being pressed.

Roadmap

I plan to expand this plugin by adding more visual customization of the cheat code scene as well as coding some common cheat code functionality into the plugin that are simple toggles in the parameters. Right now you need to event how your codes work.
